Encyclopedia entry: This baby Whammy needs a lot of love and care. She is highly intelligent and makes a sweet pet while young, but whammies can become difficult to deal with as they grow. They love to steal things and have a penchant for anything shiny, especially coins and jewellery. Their mysterious powers develop over time.
In the wild, a baby whammy is cared for closely by its mother and whole tribe for its first few years. A female whammy learns to help babysit other babies as she grows up. As the tribes are led by the females, she will also learn leadership skills.
The Plessian whammy is also known as the white-handed whammy, black-footed whammy or the Plessian white-tipped imp. This quiet creature is indigenous to the rain forests of the southern Missoulou continent called Plessia. It almost never emerges from the deep jungles it calls home. Its large, round eyes help it see in darker conditions of the deep shade. This whammy is one of the most shy, reclusive whammy species, and when confronted it almost always flees. Its cute appearance, quiet nature, and small size for a whammy--it rarely grows taller than 38 inches--have caused it to enter the pet trade, even though most owners are not equipped to care for this easily stressed animal with specific dietary needs. In the wild, it lives in small tribes of around 20 individuals. It eats fruit, nuts, insects and small prey and, unlike most whammies, it is sometimes active after dark. They say this whammy can hex any individual by pointing one finger at them.
